South Korea’s major display panel maker, LG Display Co. on said Sunday that it will showcase a 48-inch flexible display at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021. The display is said to generate sound without speakers.

According to reports, LG Display will debut its 48-inch bendable cinematic sound OLED (CSO) at the world’s largest tech expo next week which will be held online from Jan. 11 to 14.

It was reported that the latest product is optimized for gaming.

According to LG Display, the display’s paper-thin screen bends and unfolds with a curvature radius of up to 1,000R. This means that it can be made to bend up to a radius of 1,000mm without affecting the function of the display. It was reported that the screen could also be turned into a flat screen while watching TV and used as a curved screen while gaming.

LG Display also said that the display has ultra slim film, which is the part that vibrates, the thickness of the display is also said to have been reduced to just 0.6mm from 9mm. This feature will thus allow viewers to enjoy a thinner screen as well as highly impressive sound.
